Fresh summer evenings with wine at Dozza Castle
From 2 July to 6 August, Dozza Castle will host “Fresh summer evenings with wine at Dozza Castle”, a series of tasting meetings celebrating the wines of Emilia Romagna. Each event will begin at 20:45. The event will feature a walking tasting through the Dozza Castle Museum. Created in collaboration with the Dozza Città d’Arte Foundation, the evenings will introduce participants to both the wines of Emilia Romagna and the content of the museum.
The wine tastings themselves will be led by Maurizio Manzoni, a sommelier and the Emilia Romagna Regional Enoteca Permanent Exhibition Manager.
There will be six events running over the course of July and August, starting on Thursday 2 July with two autochthonous varieties of the Faenza and Lower Romagna regions: Bursôn and Centesimino. The programme will then continue on Thursday 9 July with two varieties synonymous with Emilia Romagna’s wine culture: Albana and Sangiovese. Next up, on Thursday 16 July, it will be the turn of Pignoletto and Barbera, before the lively Gutturnio and the explosive aromas of Malvasia take centre stage on Thursday 23 July.
On Thursday 30 July, the glasses will be filled with the fresh, unique flavours of Lambrusco and Fortana, before the fragrant Rebola and Famoso varieties bring the programme to a close on Thursday 6 August.
The cost of each evening is €22 (includes the price of a tasting glass and pouch).
